It is powerful to remember that God has promised every believer victory and companionship. As with every year that has come and gone, life will continue to bring challenges. Yet the promise of God means that we are always fitted with strength for the challenges we face. In fact, it is in our weakness that the strength of God is made perfect.
We trust that when we are faced with what may seem to be insurmountable obstacles that we have the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. His presence is with us always. He has promised that He will never leave or forsake us. These two promises should ring in our memory all year long so that whatever the difficulty, we are encouraged with this knowledge. God has given us victory and He has promised His unwavering companionship. In exchange, we must make the decision to obey Him in all we do. Jesus said that our prayers would be answered if we would abide in Him and let His words abide in us.
Let 2011 be the year that we covenant to abide in Christ and allow His words to abide in us so that we may have the confidence of knowing that our prayers will be answered. As a church family we are believing God for an extraordinary year filled with extraordinary favor. We will walk in victory and mirror the companionship of God as we walk alongside each other; praying for one another, bearing each others’ burdens, submitting to each other and encouraging each other. God has great things in store for us and we are positioning ourselves to receive all that He intends for us. May God’s rich grace and abundant provision be yours this year!
